Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah Quick Look
As of right now, get the slot machine details! Below, Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah as is. If you feel like you need to dig deeper, well, then… I’m ready to share my observation right after.
Roll-out Date: | 5 May 2020 |
Game Builder & Provider: | Triple Edge & Microgaming |
Theme: | Fantasy, Adventure |
Reels: | 5 |
Paying lines: | 243 ways to win |
Max Multiplier: | 15X |
Volatility: | Medium |
Grand Win: | 2,343X |
Return to Player: | around 92.02% |
Bets & Jackpots Comparison
First, get to know all the game symbols from paytable and which are more valuable.
The ratio is ABSOLUTELY insane! Feel the difference!
Highest vs Least Paid Symbol: | 1 to 12.5 |
5 vs 3 Highest Paid Symbols Hit: | 1 to 13.3 |
5 Mad Hatters Pay the Top Jackpot: | 500 coins or $100-$25,000 |
Stake Range: | $0.20 – $50 |
So, if you’re going to play with the minimum bet, which is 20 cents, you won’t get much out of the slot machine. Even with a medium hit frequency of about 33% which means that 1 of 3 spins are supposed to be winning, the prizes are likely to be small.
Medium volatility slots provide a balance between low and high variance. Generally speaking, this means that while wins may occur less frequently than in low volatility slots, the potential rewards are greater in Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah. Adding to that the game’s engaging mechanics and the allure of the Mega jackpot, we’ve created a gaming experience to appeal to both new and experienced players.
To play with the maximum bet of $50 per spin doesn’t sound reasonable either. And I definitely don’t advise you to activate the Auto Play button. The return to player percentage of 92.02% is rather low.
To say that one hundred percent you’ll get 92% of money put into the video slot, you need to make a million not 100 spins. Otherwise, the variance of return differs greatly. Though compared to the RTP of the most famous progressive slot Mega Moolah (88% RTP), it’s way better.
Bonus Features
The paytable isn’t very exciting, let’s check what else can help boost the wins.
Rolling Reels™
Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah Rolling Reels™ is the exclusive slot feature. Literally, it means that a single stake may bring a slot gambler multiple wins in a row. It relates to both the base and bonus game (that’s free spins if you wonder).
If it’s not ‘dead’ or ’empty’ spin, 3+ alike symbols can land. They’ll then disappear and new symbols will appear in their place. Some sort of a second chance to gain more.
Up to 56 Free Spins
8 Free Spins for a start… Not a lot. The feature is meant to be restarted if 3 scatters show up again. As a result, up to 56 Free Spins can be collected during the gameplay. Oh, and by the way, the good thing is that all the freerolls come with another thing – the Multiplier Trail, about it later as we move on with slot features.
How to Get Free Spins
As I’ve said, 3 symbols of the Magical Door, aka the Scatters, or 1 Scatter and 2 Wilds, Golden Coins of Mad Hatter, (FYI, the Wild doesn’t land on the 1st reel) should appear on the first, second and third reels. And yes, the Wilds substitute for/replace the Magical Door icon!
Multiplier Trail: Up to 15X
Within the Free Spins Round, aka ‘Bonus Mode’, it’s possible to multiply your catch by up to 15 times. This’s known for the Multiplier Trail. It awards the biggest possible payout apart from the mega-million win.
How to Climb Multiplier Trail
The payouts are tiny, so to get a little boost, the game developer has kinda Trail of Multipliers in 2 following forms. It activates when 3+ same icons land on the 5×3 reels, and only from left to right. Once a gambler wins nothing, the trail resets.
Base Game
The Multiplier (Trail) increases for four rewarding spins up to five times in the Base Game as follows:
Initial Win: | 1X |
2nd Win Spin: | 2X |
3rd Win Spin: | 3X |
4th Win Spin: | 5X |
Bonus Mode (Free Spins)
If it happens you make a series of winning combos during free spins, you’ll be rewarded with the following Multipliers, also known as Boosters.
Initial Win: | 3X |
2nd Win Spin: | 6X |
3rd Win Spin: | 9X |
4th Win Spin: | 15X |
Bonus Wheel
To enter the Bonus Wheel with 4 guaranteed progressive jackpots and join a roaster of millionaires made on Microgaming’s jackpot network, you’re to catch more wild symbols or contribute more (raise bets) to the Golden Tea Pot (look above the slot reels).
However, I wouldn’t recommend doing it. Only the Mega Jackpot promises millions, the other three – Major, then Minor, and lastly Mini – begin at $10 to a couple of hundred/thousand dollars. And guess what kind of two fall all too often? Interestingly, I’ve discovered that 5.3% of each bet goes toward that Mega jackpot. However, the more money you put into the slot, the more likely you enter the feature and trigger any of the progressives.
Theme (Design)
Triple Edge Studios adapted a classic novel, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, for the online slot. However, no Alice is in sight, by and large, it’s a Mad Hatter story that has been turned to 3D graphics. As compared to other games by the [Microgaming] company, here’s a noticeable improvement in a slot design quality, music, and rather cool voice-overs!
What Rhyker Thinks
And just saying, since 5th May 2020, none has won the Mega Jackpot. Someone would say ‘this’s a slot machine, you never know which spins is going to pay you’.
In my opinion, the probability to gamble away a couple of thousand dollars is way, way higher than hitting the biggest progressive jackpot here. It’s meant solely for progressive prize hunters. Even catching 5 symbols of the Mad Hatter seemed next to impossible. However… “We’re All Mad Here”. Who knows, maybe, online players will like it there.
Brendan Walton, Triple Edge Studios’s Design Lead explains the game volatility:
